About

R & R Tree Service was started by Robert and Jannai Cornett in 1998, the sole proprietors with nothing but a 1984 Ford Ranger (which their eldest daughter at the time was learning to drive and hated that it always stuck in second gear!), a chainsaw and a rake, a little blood and a lot of sweat.

Your own checks

What to check before you hire

Worth checking yourself
Always confirm credentials and quotes with the business directly before hiring.
Check they carry public-liability insurance and ask to SEE the certificate. Tree work is high-risk and damage to your property, a neighbour's, or a person is expensive to put right.
Before any felling or heavy pruning, check whether the tree is protected (a preservation order, a conservation area, or active bird nesting), because YOU, the homeowner, can be fined for unauthorised work, not just the contractor.
Get the scope in writing (which trees, how much to take off, and who removes the waste and grinds the stump), and never pay in full before the work is finished.
